Massachusetts Health Departments can apply to receive a grant to cover their transition to the 2013 Food Code and Massachusetts Supplements via the fully digital, mobile retail food safety inspection program FOODCODE-Pro™.

By utilizing FOODCODE-Pro, Massachusetts Health Departments immediately gain compliance with the state’s mandate to utilize 2013 FDA Food Code in their retail food safety inspections. Health Departments also receive many other benefits and savings from the modernization of their retail food safety inspections and practices.
The Grant*
- FOODCODE-Pro License fee for up to 6 months (SMB or Enterprise programs)
- Initial set up of FOODCODE-Pro platform
- Initial training (remote, group session via WebEx)
- Administrative reporting and mobile field inspection modules
- Unlimited reporting
- Cloud hosting and storage
Health Department Requirements*
- Participation in one end user focus group and feedback session on FOODCODE-Pro platform.
- Participation in one roundtable discussion on trends and techniques in retail food safety inspections.
- The hardware necessary to implement program (computer and iPads/iPhones).

Grant is provided by Berger Food Safety Consulting (“BFSC”).
Grant may be terminated and/or modified at any time at the sole discetion of BFSC.
Grant is exclusive to implementation of FOODCODE-Pro.
Grant is limited to up to three (3) inspectors and one (1) administrative user.
Grant application window expires December 21, 2018.
Grant is limited exclusively to MA Health Departments.
Grant limited to first 20 Health Departments approved.
Grant covers license fee for usage of FOODCODE-Pro from 01-Jan-19 through 30-Jun-19 (FYE).
Grant cannot be modified, changed or applied to other food safety programs, software, materials, training or services.
Grant provides for FOODCODE-Pro software only. All required hardware is excluded.
Grant excludes customized reporting and data import and export to other systems.
